Since 2005 IntePros Inc. has supported The Joint Staff Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). Currently IntePros Inc. is supporting the goal of the Joint Staff to fully integrate IT service functions The Joint Staff Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) requires full service information technology (IT) support for the Joint Staff Information Network (JSIN) en-claves, to include systems integration, network operations, Information Assurance execution, end-user support, asset management and procurement. The JSIN enclaves currently consist of NIPRNET, SIPRNET, Top Secret Collateral, and a Coalition Releasable networks which are known as JSIN-U, JSIN-S, JSIN-T, and JSIN-REL, respectively. There are a total of over 5,000 desktop terminals and 300 servers of varying security levels. There are approximately 2,500 users of the JSIN enclaves which reside mostly in the Pentagon and senior leaders are provided support at their quarters. In addition, there are approximately 100 DoD Intelligence Information System Trusted Workstations that support cross-domain connectivity to include Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System. Alternate sites are supported for Continuity of Operations. The JSIN enclaves are state-of-the-art infra-structures that support cross-domain (network security administration), client-server, thin-client, external access, remote access, service oriented architecture based applications, collaboration tools, web portal, organizational messaging, and audio/visual capabilities. While the Joint Staff runs its servers, services and applications, the US Army ITA manages the Pentagon wide-area network infrastructure (i.e. technical control facility, switches, routers, cryptography, and circuit monitoring).
This contract addresses specifically the support required to plan, effectively and efficiently manage, develop, deliver, test, integrate, and sustain capabilities while providing effective oversight to support the JSIN architectures and enable the needed connectivity with other networks. Although the Joint Staff OCIO is the service provider for the JSIN enclaves, OCIO provides a central role by tracking and facilitating IT requirements solutions and support issues with external IT service providers (i.e. DoD TS/SCI networks, Pentagon network services, various command & control systems, and DISA network services).
Joint Staff OCIO’s long-range strategic transformation efforts center on emerging service oriented architecture (SOA) and collaboration technologies. All enclaves currently leverage Vignette portal, Documentum content management, Metastorm business process management, and Cognos business intelligence reporting software capabilities. An effort is underway to migrate to a Microsoft SharePoint centric environment.
IntePros’ Areas of work
Systems Integration
IntePros has put together systems and applications in order to meet Joint Staff IT requirements utilizing a variety of disciplines such as project management, systems engineering, integration testing, change management, and release management. IntePros has integrated systems in accordance with the Federal Enterprise Architecture and DoD Architecture Framework.
IntePros has supported multiple projects at various stages of the development life-cycle. IntePros has done design, developed, assemble, test, field, train, and deploy systems in support of the Joint Staff mission and task requirements. IntePros has established, documented, and maintained Standard Operating Procedures for SI in accordance with DoD and Joint Staff policies and procedures.
IntePros has provided systems engineering to include elicitation, capture, analysis and tracking of system requirements, specifications, and technical designs in order to meet functional performance requirements. IntePros has evaluated, designed and provided architectural technical performance capabilities related to proper systems integration of the JSIN architecture in order to synthesize the diverse IT systems and networks.
Network Operations, Maintenance and Services
IntePros has performed network operations, maintenance and services for the JSIN architecture. IntePros has provided high quality IT capabilities and services that are expertly integrated with Joint Staff business processes and enable the accomplishment of needed information-processing by performing the network operations, maintenance and services.
Network Infrastructure Management
IntePros helps manage the entire JSIN computing environment (standalone or networked) to include data center systems, desktop workstations, hardware, software, peripherals, hand-held and laptop devices, and network connectivity required by end-users to perform their jobs. IntePros supports all hardware and software configurations established for the Joint Staff user community located in the Pentagon, at various locations in the National Capital Region, and various remote and contingency sites. IntePros maintains documentation to support the installation, testing, and daily operation of the JSIN enclaves in accordance with Federal and DoD regulations and guidelines to include but not limited to FISMA, NIST, DISA, and JTF-GNO.
Server Management and Administration
IntePros supports the operation and maintainance of all production, test, and development servers. The subcontractor shall perform server administration activities to include account management, monitoring and auditing system logs, back up and recovery, security, managing operating systems, and storage management. The subcontractor shall test and install operating system upgrades and patches in a timely manner consistent with security, information assurance, and change control requirements.
Data Center Management and Administration
IntePros supports the management of the Joint Staff OCIO’s data center environment (hardware and software) to ensure maximum availability for JSIN users. IntePros maintains server operating systems at the versions required by the Joint Staff OCIO. IntePros helps create and maintain documentation to support the testing, installation, operations and maintenance of data center equipment. IntePros supports all non-emergency disruptive maintenance, repairs, and upgrades (i.e., network operating system upgrades, server refresh, etc.) during non-business hours or as coordinated with the TM or designated representative.
Network Security Administration
Network security is required to protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of Joint Staff IT systems and data. IntePros ensures that IT assets are properly managed, maintained and administered to minimize network vulnerabilities and meet DoD compliance regulations. IntePros performs network security administration tasks to include, but not limited to, the following:
- Provide timely updates to the Vulnerability Management System.
