Desktop Configuration Management
IntePros Federal provides desktop configuration management support across the enterprise which includes the packaging of COTS applications to the customer requirements. This includes working in a mid-scale Microsoft Exchange 2007 environment with approximately 12,000 users. Under the contract, IntePros supports the monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mail routing; scheduled nightly maintenance; Outlook Web Access configuration and user support which includes secure access; daily administration of anti-spam and antivirus software; troubleshooting and configuration of Outlook; group policy implementation; maintenance of email groups; and account and data migration. IntePros also supports Windows 7 builds and the use of the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) to create a baseline desktop. Other software used on the contract includes AutoIt which is a scripting language designed for automating the Windows GUI and for general scripting. It uses a combination of simulated keystrokes, mouse movement, and window/ control manipulation in order to automate tasks in a way not possible or reliable with other languages. It is designed for desktop “roll out” situations to reliably automate and configure thousands of desktops. IntePros also uses Wise Package Studio (WPS) which is a software installation tool for the Windows platform. It is used to create and edit installation packages.
