John Kovalcik
CEO

A graduate of the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, John served six years in the United States Navy as a fighter pilot flying F-4 Phantom aircraft from Naval aircraft carriers. After a distinguished career in Naval Aviation, he left the Navy in 1984 to join Computerware, a regional personal computer (PC) retailer/distributor. After brief duties as sales executive, sales manager and general manager, John became President / CEO in 1986. Under his direction, Computerware migrated its small retail locations into regional retail superstores, expanded into corporate sales, education sales to schools, service repair, network consulting services and electronic commerce. Computerware grew to over $100 million in sales in 1995 when it was sold to Catalink Direct, an electronic commerce PC reseller. John served as President of the $600 million combined Company and participated in an Initial Public Offering (IPO) of the renamed company, Elcom International (NASDAQ “ELCO”), in late 1995.

After completing the Computerware – Elcom International transition, John and his wife, Loren started a new venture in systems integration and outsourcing of Information Technology (IT) professionals with IntePros Consulting. By combining his technology background and the public company experience he acquired at Computerware and Elcom Intl. with the leadership, precision and aggressiveness discipline from 10 years of Naval Aviation, IntePros with John “in the cockpit” has achieved great success as an IT professional services and system integration firm. John completed the Presidents Course of case study management education at the Harvard Business School. As a member and former chapter chairman of the Young President’s Organization (YPO) John has received numerous awards for business accomplishments including Small Business Person of the Year and Entrepreneur of the Year. Computerware was listed as one of Inc. Magazine’s 500 fastest growing companies for two consecutive years while under John’s direction.
